***I was just speaking to Heidi and thanking her for her beautiful music. I could hear the music and I followed it until I found her. An oasis in the midst of busyness! I was mentioning how I've been noticing so many people's reaction to her music and I said I would love to thank whomever was responsible for her being here. It has turned my time here into a lovely thing rather than a boring waste of time. Thanks again to Heidi and you.***

Dear Piano Lady,
As I sit here and write, I hear beauty in your music, and I just want to remind you that even tho', in this busy airport, as people pass by, you are making a difference. People hear God's beauty, goodness, and peace. You have a beautiful gift that has touched many people today and you have reminded me of a beautiful and important season of my life. Thank you!
Blessings upon blessings....

"Of all the people I've heard play, not one of them is as Expressive as You! I don't know how you do it, but it's an expression that's
really beautiful." (Roger)

Heidi's unique touch on the keys and the staggered rhythm of beautiful melodies tug at your heartstrings, evoking memories of the most poignant times of your life. Her playing also brings out inspired understanding of the depth and complexity of piano and cello, on their own and in harmony with each other. Your heart will sing and dance, and maybe even weep a little.... but you will never tire of listening and reflecting....and creating new memories. Heidi's music truly touches your very soul. (Jennifer Bauer)
"I Love your CD! I listen to it all day. I am bettered because of it ~ ...but isn't that what great music is all about?!" (Mark Jordan)

It is truly a delight to listen to Heidi's "Here I Am" CD. I enjoy her variety of styles, and I noted that she had written and/or arranged five of the pieces. Her use of backup musicians is balanced, and adds a nice touch. Her technique and elegant expression are superb. There is a magical quality such that the piano itself is an expression of the artist. Very well done! (Gary Kauffman)

~ My Story ~
The counsel of my youth became my life’s belief:
“You can’t do anything with your piano; go get a job!"
So, despite playing for ensembles, soloists, orchestras, theater productions, and graduating with a B.A. in Music & El. Ed. from Bethel College, I decided this counsel was true; I closed the lid on my piano and found an entry level corporate job. Soon after, I got married, had 2 beautiful kids, and continued to go through the seasons of my life believing that I couldn't do anything with my piano. I just didn't play it anymore.
But something didn't feel right. I loved my piano, and I really wanted to play. 14 years had passed (2012); I was unhappy and overweight, but I opened up my piano and started to play it again. As friends heard me, they encouraged me to ‘find a venue’, saying, "people should hear that, Heidi! It just can't go unnoticed". These were the voices that I needed to hear! So, a short time later, with determination & courage, I joined Weight Watchers, and began volunteering (my music) at Senior Communities. Then, after losing 50#, I found my way to the piano at Von Maur, where I was affectionately referred to as the “Lorie Line of Von Maur”. Stepping forward with a renewed sense of hope and a vision from above, I began writing my own music, recorded 2 CD’s, and auditioned to be a featured musician at MSP. And, well, here I am, hence the title of my 2nd CD.💜
My repertoire is versatile across genres: Contemporary, Classical, Light Jazz, and Pop, and I’m often drawn to music that communicates, as if ‘telling a story’. I’m a Lyrical pianist, where I ‘sing the lyrics with my fingers’. Some tell me this lyrical style is ‘that something special’ that sets me apart. Others adoringly express, “you bring such life to those keys!”
Currently I like to write and arrange music (please ask me about my Classical Hymn arrangements) and I feel immensely blessed to be able to contribute my music by sitting at a piano and playing for you today. I love to reach people from the piano and make connections at events such as Weddings, Dinners, Church Services, Reunions, or even Real Estate Open Houses. As long as I have a presence in the community and people enjoy my music, I will keep on playing, connecting, and celebrating life with gratitude. And maybe I’ll actually get to meet Lorie Line someday!
